I administer this website www.trenchartofww1.co.uk and the website exists as a dedication of memory to the ghosts and spirits of our heroes, who sacrificed everything for a world free from oppression, domination and cruelty - in a strive for justice and liberty.
Today's world is faced with similar threats, with fanatics heralding religious and political violence in order to change regimes and societies.
Leaders of power should be made to study and remember the historic consequences of war, where there are no "winners"....from the deadly sniper bullet as fired in WW1 to the Hiroshima/Nagasaki horrors. We now have thermonuclear stockpiles sufficient to end all life on Earth.
War, fuelled by money, greed and lust for control, should be alien to a civilized planet Earth and its survival.
